Is Virtual Reality the next major computing platform? Will a pair of VR glasses replace all TV’s and monitors? If so, when will this happen? Or is VR doomed to fail like 3d TV’s?
This month we’re going to be talking about the current state of Virtual and Augmented Reality, both hardware and software. We will also make some predictions for the future of VR over the next decade. We will also discuss how and why every developer and business should get started with VR today. Many of us missed out on the early days of the web and mobile app development. Now’s our chance to get ahead of the curve with the next major technology.
Michael Francis has been a full stack web developer since 2011. He has worked on custom content management systems, procurement systems and health care systems. He was introduced to VR when the Oculus Rift had its initial kickstarter and has been obsessed with VR ever since. About a year ago he quit his full time job as a developer to work fulltime on his VR startup SolariumVR. SolariumVR is a web browser that is being recreated from the ground up for virtual reality.
