While public interest in bitcoin and blockchain has exploded in recent years, the phenomenon continues to be steeped in mystique and misunderstanding. Join us as economist David Andolfatto and Julie Stackhouse, both from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, clarify what blockchain is, what it does, and why it may or may not be useful. Learn about bitcoin and its implications for monetary policy, as well as the merits of a central bank digital currency.
