C.C. Chapman, co-author of the best-selling content marketing book Content Rules and author of Amazing Things Will Happen, will kick off the 2016 year of Louisville Digital Association’s monthly gatherings Tuesday, Jan. 12 at the Bluegrass Brewing Company’s Bourbon Barrel Loft at 300 West Main Street. The event, presented by Brown-Forman and LEAP, will take place from 6-8 p.m. ET and feature a cash bar with complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Chapman, who bills himself as a storyteller, explorer and humanitarian, has worked with some of the world’s most successful brands as both a marketing consultant, writer and producer. He was one of the first to the scene with podcasting, having launched Managing the Grey in the early 2000s, and was among the first recognized Dad bloggers in the social sphere. “C.C. Chapman is, in many ways, the face of content marketing,” said LDA president Jason Falls. “He and his co-author Ann Handley literally wrote the book on it with Content Rules. C.C. brings the added expertise to the table of having been a podcaster longer than most of us have been online and an experienced photographer and video producer as well. He’s like Arby’s for content marketing. He has the meats.” His talk will focus on the fact that content marketing has grown up, but most marketers have not grown with it.
