Ohio Valley Crud — the allergies and stuffiness often caused by the high pollen count in our region during the season changes — is something our region just deals with. But there are innovative thinkers in town trying to figure out how our geography doesn’t have to define our health.
The November program of the Louisville Digital Association will illustrate how these innovative thinkers are applying technology and digital tools to health issues like asthma and allergies. The gathering is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the offices of PriceWeber at 10701 Shelbyville Road.

Veronica Combs, the director of community engagement for the Institute for Healthy Air, Water and Soil, will discuss the AIR Louisville program. It is the first digital health system in the U.S. focused on treating asthma and it is a health data collaboration between the Institute, a health startup and area employers like Papa John’s, Brown-Forman, Louisville Metro Government, WHAS 11 and Seven Counties.
The talk will cover why the approach is unique, how AIR Louisville is working with employers to make the program sustainable and what the city is going to do with the data.
It's certainly an interesting application of digital and technology to positively affect change and help those suffering from illness.
