This October as part of the Department of State’s Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI), ten entrepreneurs from South and Central America and the Caribbean are visiting Louisville to be paired with local businesses, work alongside them, learn from their practices, and develop indispensable international contacts. Near the program’s conclusion after having had a month’s time to learn and refine their ideas, the entrepreneurs will participate in a business pitch competition. Each will have a chance to pitch their business to a panel of judges made up of local business leaders, and the winner will move on to a follow-up competition in D.C., where they compete against the winners from other YLAI cities. The pitch competition itself will then be followed by a catered reception and networking session. 5:00–6:00pm Pitch Competition 6:00–8:00pm Reception
