Please join The Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NEW) for an evening of refreshments, networking and learning on September 9th. Marisa Neal will present: “Top 5 Things You Need to Know about Government Contracting” Marisa Midkiff Neal will address some common myths and a few facts that women should know about government contracting. Marisa will give you several strategies to grow your business with government contracts.  For women entrepreneurs, winning government contracts is a way to create a high-growth business.  According to research by American ExpressOPEN, 42% of women-owned small business with government contracts generate annual revenues greater than $1 million. Marisa is the founder and president of MMN Consulting, LCC, a boutique firm specializing in services for companies currently selling to or that wish to sell to local, state and federal government agencies.  She launched her company in July 2012, after leaving Kentucky state government where she managed purchasing policies that govern state agencies and vendors, promulgated procurement regulations, and managed a statewide program that assisted small businesses with all aspects government contracting. Marisa was named SBA’s 2014 Kentucky Women Small Business Advocate of the Year, in part for her efforts to help women across the Commonwealth understand public procurement and compete for government contracts.  Marisa is a member of NEW’s core team and NAWBO Louisville’s board as the Public Policy Committee chair; she is a past board member of the Junior League of Louisville and the Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND). Join NEW as Marisa shares some of her tips to help you succeed in what can be a complex market.
