In addition to the financial investment, participating startups receive education to get them "market ready." That includes one-on-one weekly advising, six-months of free co-working space, dedicated legal and accounting counsel, and early feedback through an investor relationship with Connectic Ventures. They also have access to staff resources for aid in graphic design and tech development, an entrepreneur speaker series with 30 plus speakers, access to 200 plus mentors, university student intern grant, and gigabit internet. UpTech is seeking "data-driven, tech-enabled businesses offering their scalable products in large markets," according to a news release. The Covington-based program is scheduled to begin in September and run through March 2017. Applications will be open for six weeks, with the deadline to apply by 11:59 p.m. June 26. As active members in the #StartupCincy community, participants are able to leverage the support of hundreds of developing and established startup entrepreneurs in the region. UpTech’s partnership with The Kentucky Innovation Network at Northern Kentucky also gives its portfolio companies access to one-on-one advising and investors in the area. Since its inception, UpTech portfolio companies have secured $3.5 million in follow-on funding and two exits.
